Gillian joined Accenture following 2 years as a researcher within Financial Services, focusing on both Lloyd's of London and global insurance.
She has been heavily involved with the European Youth Parliament at a senior level, presiding international conferences, restructuring her National Committee, auditing and enhancing conference content, and running leadership training, coaching and facilitation events across Europe.
Gillian has a degree in Psychology from UCD and a Masters in Social Cognition from UCL.
Gillian formerly lived in Switzerland and speaks French. She is also an avid traveller and enjoys outdoor sports and music.

The EYP encourages independent thinking and socio-political initiative in young people and facilitates the learning of
crucial social and professional skills. Since its inauguration, many tens of thousands of young people have taken part in regional, national and international sessions, formed friendships and made international contacts across and beyond borders.
Today the EYP is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe. The EYP consists of a network of 35 European associations and organisations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity. From January 2005 to December 2012 (8 years) Conference President, Amsterdam2012 @ Appointed President of this 10-day International Session - opportunity given to 3 in over 20,000 European Youth Parliament participants annually. Responsibilities included recruiting, training and supporting a team of 16 chairpersons and media team editor, creating session topics in cooperation with corporate and institutional sponsors, monitoring and accounting for all academic quality, interviews and press conferences with pan-European media, chairing debates of over 200 participants and executive decision making.

Instigated the creation of the National Committee Handbook (a 120+ page document of knowledge sharing and advice) and initiated the further involvement of Irish delegations in conferences across the continent, thereby increasing the alumni pool and involving more participants. From 2007 to 2009 (2 years) Captain/Skipper @ Yacht captain responsible for crew of 10-16 young people sailing around Caribbean. Also included hiking, diving, community service, leadership development and training.
