I am passionate about building products people love and use every day. I put first class user experience and clean and scalable architecture first when building solutions. I'm a pragmatic engineer always aiming to build software with rapid speed, building up as little technical debt as possible. I've worked across the stack on several platforms but am most enthusiastic about creating mobile / next generation experiences.
I thrive when working on challenging projects with small teams - may that be building mobile apps that rise to the top of the charts, building software to ship with XBox One on day one - without the OS being finalized right until launch - or scaling a web site to handle thousands of requests / second. I am a pragmatic developer and a constant learner always searching and using the best tools, frameworks and languages for the given problem. I love to teach what I've learned to others - I mentor when I can and occasionally speak at various UK and international meetups and conferences.
For me code is just a (really efficient) tool to get stuff done and deep down I am a product person. I'm the first to sign up for hackdays to prototype cool, functional and working stuff in a few days. As side projects I develop apps for iOS, Windows Phone and Android such as Cocktail Flow, Weather Flow or AppFlow.

Principal Mobile Lead @ Building a new product that will disrupt the way people book their travel - the same way Slack disrupted the way teams collaborate.
We're a small cross-functional team across web, mobile and backend, moving fast and breaking things. We are hiring frontend and mobile engineers in London, Barcelona, Budapest, Edinburgh and remote. Ping me if you might be interested in building the next big thing in social travel. From January 2015 to Present (1 year) London, United KingdomSoftware Development Engineer, Skype @ First developer on the Skype for Xbox One team, building it from the first line of code written to shipping to millions of people on launch day. Architected the UI and navigation framework of the app and led collaboration & prototyping with design. Acted as scrum master for the team, helping us stretch further and deliver faster and better each iteration.
Afterwards built the next generation Skype web calling on web.skype.com and outlook.com. Rolled out an earlier version of web calling to all 400 million Outlook.com users, implementing solutions to handle load a scalable way. From July 2012 to January 2015 (2 years 7 months) London, United KingdomMobile App Development @ I built some of the highest rated applications on Windows Phone like Cocktail Flow, Weather Flow and AppFlow. I later ported Cocktail Flow to Windows 8, iOS and Android together with Distinction where it is one of the most popular drinks apps (just search for "cocktail" on the app store). The apps I built have >15M downloads and >200K DAU. From 2010 to 2013 (3 years) Senior Associate, Software Developer @ Built a product for the equities front office desk. This was the software that I shipped to the fewest people in my entire career (not more than 100 traders and marketers) as well as the one that generated the most revenue per day. I can neither confirm or deny adding the easter egg with the Homer Simpson "mmm... beer!" sound causing temporary havoc on the trading floor when discovered. From 2011 to 2012 (1 year) London, United KingdomSoftware Developer @ Developed Visiblox, a high performance, multi platform (WPF, Silverlight, Windows Phone) and ridiculously extensible charting component. From 2009 to 2011 (2 years) Edinburgh, United KingdomSoftware Developer @ Built bespoke websites and solutions for company clients. From 2008 to 2009 (1 year) Developer @ Hacked solutions using .NET, java, PHP, C and everything else I could get my hands on. My most memorable project was building a sensor system using an early RFID kit that shipped with no Windows drivers, leaving me no choice but to build one. From 2004 to 2008 (4 years)
