I'm interested in people and meaningful conversations. I always have been. I love listening to someone's "back story", exploring with them how they got to where they are now. Why they made the decisions they did. What's really important to them in their career and in life. Figuring out exactly what it is that makes them "tick".

It is a privilege to be allowed into another person's world in this way.
My father was a secondary school teacher & Principal. He was one of those teachers who genuinely cared about his students and their development. He was an intelligent, wise and deeply considered man whom I admired enormously. One of the many fond memories I have of Dad was how he helped me navigate through one of my career crossroads as a young man; with his open mind, gentle manner and sage advice. Sure, he was proud of his then "Lawyer" son, but Dad knew there were different layers to me, different things that made me tick and so he helped me take a leap of faith toward what he saw as the right "fit" for my real strengths - a more people orientated, emotionally intelligent career path.
In the years that followed my Dad's passing I intuitively sought out other mentors and trusted advisers as my life, career and business unfolded. I now value these people enormously and consider them to be my Personal Board of Directors - they are my sounding board, they hold a mirror up to me, provide objectivity, expertise and guidance in all the important facets of my life, continually.
And this is why I do what I do. I know the value of wise, expert counsel and feel that I am being of genuine service when I am that person to others. I know that my own life experience of being a lawyer, legal recruiter, business owner, manager, leader, husband and father of three has added depth and perspective to the career mentoring I provide.
