Education:In 2004, Hook earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Portland State University. After completing his undergraduate degree, Hook worked in customer service for Panasonic in Japan for two years, before moving to the United States Air Force in February 1986. While at the Air Force, Hook researched possiblerepair possibilities for phase shifters in a phased array ground radar. Hook then moved to Agility Robotics in Albany, Oregon in 1995, where he continued his work with the hardware team to develop and troubleshoot electronics in complex bipedal robots. Hook is also currently a Senior Hardware Engineer at Evolution Robotics from April 2006 to December 2008. Hook's work experience with Masimo includes designing and documenting medical electronics systems and sensor interfaces.

His responsibilities included developing and leading product teams, Lead Engineer for Standardized test equipment, and Area Manager for Alliances.Whilst at Analog Devices, Frederic Hook was also the recipient of several distinguished engineering awards, including the 2010 Technology Achievement Award from the IEEE Electron Devices Society, the 2007 Clarke Award for Outstanding Technology Achievement from the Foundation for Electrical Engineering, and the 2005 Next Generation Technology Achievement Award from the IEEE.
