Mr. Bridges is currently President of APV Multimedia, Inc. He worked for almost 2 years as a Graphic Specialist for the 2010 Decennial Census. He is the former manager of the audio visual services department at Soft Sheen Products, Inc., then one of the nations largest Black owned health and beauty aids companies. He began his professional video career while still in undergraduate school at Columbia College, with a 6 month internship at New Trier Cable Company in Wilmette, Illinois. Formerly a print reporter for Chicago Metro News, he has more than two decades of experience in the communications industry.
Mr. Bridges worked four seasons as the only Chicago video correspondent for the Public Broadcast Service (PBS) prime time series, “The 90’s”, which was seen in approximately 270 PBS outlets around the country. Mr. Bridges is a past president of the Board of Directors for the Center For Communication Resources. He has also served as chairman of the Resource Development Committee, a member of the Long Range Planning Committee, the Executive Committee and the Marketing/Communications Committee. He has also given back to the community diligently as a member of the Board of Directors for the Vincennes Trail District of the Boy Scouts Of America, honored a six year commitment to the Aldridge Adopt-A-Student Mentor Program, worked with a family of 5 children in the Big Brother, Little Brother program and served as a member of the Business Advisory Committee for Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Bridges was listed among National Register’s “Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals” for the 2000 Millennium Edition. He currently lends his time and talent to a not-for-profit organization, Southwest Chicago PADS, dedicated to improving the lives of homeless men, women and children. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and a former member of the International Television Association.
Owner @ A producer and director for more than 27 years, Mr. Bridges is currently president of APV Multimedia, Inc., an audio visual production company. His business includes a roster of clients such as Hanson Professional Services, Inc., Austin Diversified Products, Inc., The March of Dimes and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., among others.
Mr. Bridges responsibilities within the company include managing projects, employees and talent. His own talents include voiceover - recording and talent, writing, producing, directing, video production, editing (both video and audio), still photography and creation of graphics in Photoshop as well as other illustration programs. He is also proficient in PowerPoint presentation, design and production.
Among Mr. Bridges strengths is the ability to carry a project from concept to completion, the years of experience that he brings to the table, and a dedication to getting the job done on time and on budget. From June 1986 to Present (29 years 5 months) Partnership Specialist/Graphic Specialist @ Mr. Bridges worked for almost 2 years as a graphic specialist for the Chicago Region of the 2010 Decennial Census. The Chicago Region encompassed Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Through the Creative department, he was charged with producing promotional materials that were distributed throughout the region, documenting events through still photography and video production, providing PowerPoint presentations for meetings and events, and developing print materials for cities and towns in all three states. PSAs and other video projects were edited and formatted for use on the Chicago Region web site and on the National Decennial Census web site. From January 2009 to September 2010 (1 year 9 months) Manager of Audio Visual Services @ As manager of audio visual services at Soft Sheen Products, Inc. Mr. Bridges' department was responsible for video production, as well as the technical requirements (lighting, sound, staging, set-up, etc) for an average of ten A-level trade shows and twenty-three new product introduction road shows annually. He also provided technical support for the needs of the companies’ annual, five day, National Sales and Education Department meetings and departmental trade show. From 1983 to 1986 (3 years)
