From June 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) Area Manager @ I was in charge of an area of stores in the West of England, managing over forty employees and ensuring the smooth running of my stores on a daily basis. Responsible for visiting my stores, maintaining correct staffing levels, sustaining high standards and keeping costs to a minimum. I was also heavily involved in new stores which opened.

From December 2013 to May 2014 (6 months) Property Renovation Surveyor @ Working as part of the Property team at Farmfoods, I, along with two others, was responsible for visiting the majority of Farmfoods stores around the country, surveying the property and recognizing and noting down work which needed to be done to significantly improve the projected image. Car parks, landscaped areas, signage, shop fronts and building elevations. From October 2013 to December 2013 (3 months) Customer Services Placement @ During a year-long placement at McDonald's Head Office in London, I was offered the unique opportunity to be part of the hard work that ensures McDonald's customers are kept satisfied, and dealing with any problems which customers did come across in a helpful, sensitive and compassionate manner.
My placement at McDonald's gave me a real hands-on experience as to what it was like to work for one of the biggest companies in the World, and I learnt a great deal about how a conversation with a customer service advisor can have a positive impact on a customer's perception of the McDonald's brand.
The main responsibilities on a daily basis were to ensure any complaints or queries from customers were dealt with in a considerate and effective manner, and providing ad hoc support to the rest of the team. This involved receiving incoming calls from customers, making outgoing calls to different departments around the Head Office and restaurants all over the UK, attaching relevant e-mails to specific contacts, responding to customers through a variety of mediums (phone, e-mail, letter) and ultimately ensuring the customer was always happy with the outcome of their concern.
During my placement I was also offered the opportunity to attend two training courses, 'Effective Internal Communication' and 'Introduction to Excel', both of which helped improve my skills in these areas. From July 2011 to June 2012 (1 year) London, United KingdomSales Assistant @ Working part-time at New Look during my first and second year at University provided me with the opportunity to develop my customer service and sales skills in a retail environment. Due to being face-to-face with consumers, my confidence in a Sales Assistant job role increased here, and I was able to develop my communication skills by speaking to a wide variety of different customers who visited the store.
Customers are the number one focus and priority for New Look, and so excellent communication and customer service skills were needed in this role, and it was here that I was able to develop these skills.
My main responsibility in this role was ensuring customers were offered help or advice if they needed it, providing excellent customer skills in all areas of the store, and helping with the banking at the end of the working day. From March 2010 to June 2011 (1 year 4 months) Hull, United KingdomSales Assistant @ It was whilst working at Argos that my interest in customer service first began, especially after I was awarded 100% when serving a Mystery Shopper in my first few months of working at Argos.
I was trained in all areas of the store (tills, collection, stock room, delivery, customer service point) and was regularly praised for my consistent sales of store cards and product insurance.
