Firas Ahmad has experience in a variety of Diplomatic roles, including Acting Ambassador to Armenia from October 2002-October 2003, Deputy Chief of Mission at the American Embassy in Tehran from October 2003 until his retirement in October 2009, and then as the Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at the Office of Iranian Cultural Affairs from October 2009 until his fall from office in October 2017. Firas Ahmad, together with a team of diplomats and experts, helped to renovate the Iranian Embassy in Washington, D.C. He also helped to lay the groundwork for the Diplomatic relations between Iran and the United States, during which time Iran and the United States committed to exchanging official visitors, ministerial meetings and protests.
