Fede began investing as an individual in early 2011. Working out of White Bear Yard, he ended up investing in over 20 companies over the next 2 years. In early 2013, to support the already sizeable portfolio and bring a more professional skill set to create a more consistent investment approach, he turned Playfair Capital into an LLP and brought on partners. Around the same time, he acquired and refurbished the building that became Warner Yard. Warner Yard is a 168 desk co-working space in Clerkenwell, home to Techstars London and a total of more than 20 companies. It is also home to a collection of early stage investors who informally share a floor, which makes for a good sounding board when considering companies. The Playfair team is now 7 strong, and now has a portfolio of more than 30 companies across a wide range of digital technology verticals.
