💼 Past Experience

Ever since Erik Wirsing was a young boy he has been interested in technology. As he entered high school he quickly realized that through technology he could improve his future. He has always been faced with the challenge of coming up with innovative solutions to problems. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Technology in Berlin, he started his professional career as a software engineer at German technology giant Siemens. In 2006 he joined DB Schenker as an engineer in the Corporate System Development Unit. His first task was to develop a solution to the problem of reconciliation between different systems at Siemens. After a few successful projects he was promoted to Vice President Global Innovation in 2009 and succeeded his predecessor, Uwe Drees. As Vice President Global Innovation Erik Wirsing is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of the company’s Sybase Enterprise technology. In his charge is the overall development of the company’s business model, technology strategy and product development. His vision for the future of DB Schenker is to contribute to the optimization of the company’s systems, becoming an innovative and profitable global player. Erik Wirsing has been a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für den Datacenterromantechnik (DG arbeitete in kooperation mit Siemens) since he left Siemens in 2013. He has also been a member of the German Technology Industry Association (DGBA) since he joined Siemens. Erik Wirsing has a degree in computer engineering from the University of Technology in Berlin and a work experience in the software engineering field as an engineer at Siemens and as a projectmanager at Corporate System Development at DBSchenker.
