Eric Termuende is a Director and Co-Founder of Gen Y Inc., an international culture group based in Canada. Eric helps lead business development and thought leadership for Gen Y Inc. and is speaking across the world about the future of work and workplace culture. His leadership in entrepreneurship is among several reasons why was invited to be a Canadian delegate participating in the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance, where he now sits on the Leadership Committee after representing Canada in Sydney, Australia.
Due to his entrepreneurial achievements, Eric was recently recognized at one of the Top 100 Emerging Innovators under 35 globally by American Express and Ashoka. He is also sits as Chair of Community Integration for the Calgary Global Shapers (World Economic Forum), and sat on the Organizing Committee of SHAPE North America.
In recent years, Eric Termuende has been recognized as Top 30 Emerging Leader at the University of Calgary while he filled the seat of Students' Union Vice-President Operations and Finance. He is the Globe and Mail's youngest contributor to the Leadership Lab, and due to the calibre of the article, he received a letter of commendation from Prime Minister Harper, as he appreciated the actions that took place in the article.
Eric is also a University of Calgary BComm alumnus, where he was selected as one of six Class Ambassadors to represent the graduating class of 2014. Following graduation, Eric was asked to be a founding member of the Haskayne Alumni Advisory Council where he still sits as a member.
Co-Founder and Director @ Recognized by the Globe and Mail and CBC as one of Canada's disruptor companies, Gen Y Inc. helps clients in public and private sectors attract, retain, and engage the next generation of work. In addition to providing high-end recruitment, retention, and engagement services, Gen Y Inc. has developed a Cultural Diagnostic Tool that can quantify and analyze organizational culture, to help organizations become 'future ready'. This tool is aimed at changing the way recruiting is done as companies can now recruit for cultural fit and not just brand or salary recognition. Recent collaborations include a summit on youth social innovation and entrepreneurship with the Government of Alberta Ministry of Innovation and Advanced Education, a joint partnership with the Globe and Mail on Gen Y best practices in the workplace, marketing partnerships with the Conference Board of Canada and an Ontario-wide event focusing on public space and design. From May 2014 to Present (1 year 8 months) VP Operations and Finance @ As VP Operations and Finance, Eric was responsible for managing an $18 million dollar organization that represents 25,000 students. He was proud to be a member of an elected executive team of five, as well being an active member of 12 committees and three media boards. As Chair for five not-for-profit committees focusing on leadership, policy, and financing, his experience and understanding grew significantly when dealing with governance and organization structure. Since taking office, he restructured the sustainability board to be more efficient in both cost and administration, rolled out a brand extension of the Union, and worked on negation a LOOMA for the MacEwan Student Centre, allowing the SU to continue to effectively move forward. From May 2013 to May 2014 (1 year 1 month) Calgary, Canada AreaMining Analyst @ As a Mining Analyst, Eric was responsible for building a historical database of hundreds of companies focused in the mining sector. He modelled trends and forecasted future revenue streams, as well as cash flows and share prices. During his time at Humboldt, he was able to pioneer a new system for analyzing companies that was implemented and used in making large investment decisions. With extensive knowledge in Excel and Word, he was able to efficiently build reports and graphs that were utilized immediately and optimized time in research.
