Eric Simard is a highly educated doctor who has a background in biologist. He got his degree from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi in 1998 and then had a masters from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi in 1999. After getting his education, Simard worked for 3 years as a research associate at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi. From there, he moved to the University of Quebec at Montreal in 2003 to start his own research lab. Simard is currently the Scientific Director at the new Department of Resilience and Sustainability at the University of Quebec at Montreal. This is a position which oversees a number of research projects which focus on and explore ways in which Montreal canESEVRY better meet the challenges of the 21st century.A pretty important part of his work is his research on the use of sustainable resources. He has beenuchaizing the use of technologies which reduce the environmental impact of production and is working on developing new ways of extracting and using resources. For example, he has been working ondeveloping a new extraction method for oil and gas which does not cause any environmental damage. He is also involved in a project which looks at ways to improve urban water usage.He is also highly experienced in dealing with different stakeholders, both within and outside of the research team. He is very effective in communicating with people who are important to his project and he is also able to work with executive directors andellow scientists who may be difficult to reach. Simard is extremely dedicated to his research and is eager to continue working on important projects despite the many challenges which come along with them.
