In 1999, after working as an assistant curator at the Musée Jenisch in Vevey, Eric Gillis became the curator of prints and drawings at the British Museum. Here, his work focused on exploring the 20th century masterpieces of Fernand Léger and Max Ernst. Additionally, he was also responsible for creating a gallery specifically devoted to the works of Eric Gillis. In 2010, Eric Gillis left the British Museum to become the director of fine art at Gillis Goldman Fine Art, where he continued to explore the works of Fernand Léger and Max Ernst.
