I'm a communications PhD working in the technology industry. I currently mine YouTube data to understand user engagement with music, politics, and sports content to develop scaled media packages and sponsorships. I've analyzed trends in content monetization and developed competitive reports about the online video industries surrounding sports and music content. I've also evangelized for advertiser investment in YouTube by publishing thought leadership pieces about EDM and SXSW that have reached more than 15k readers. Finally, I lead the team's initiatives related to program measurement using 1st and 3rd party YouTube data and manage research vendors for tentpole programs. In a 20% capacity, I've also contributed YouTube's product design by conducting logs analyses for 2 large scale projects for the YouTube UX team. From June 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) Greater New York City AreaLead analyst, AdWords customer insights @ I conducted research to better understand small business AdWords and AdWords Express customers by combining survey research with behavioral (logs) data. Key projects included: - Leading a 6-month survey panel to better understand new advertisers in first 6 months; managed $50k research budget. - Developing statistical models evaluating customer happiness, retention, spend by combining logs with attitudinal data. - Managing and analyzing global customer satisfaction surveys for AdWords, fielded in 13 languages to 26 countries. - Designing and managing a bi-annual customer satisfaction survey for AdWords Express, including market research about other online and offline advertising solutions and testing new features and sign-up flow. From June 2013 to June 2014 (1 year 1 month) Research fellow @ My dissertation focused on socially conscious consumer behavior and marketing. Specifically, I tested the use of product targeting and social norms to increase the likelihood of consumers' choosing cause-related products. My research also included a comprehensive review of scientific studies related to socially conscious consumer behavior and cause-related marketing. I have advanced training in quantitative and qualitative research methods to independently design, conduct, and analyze data from surveys, content analyses, field experiments, and laboratory experiments. My experience with applied statistics includes analysis of experimental and observational data using linear regression, categorical data analysis, structural equation modeling, panel data analysis, matching, and instrumental variables. In my time as an academic, I had fifteen papers accepted to conferences, with two nationally-recognized Top Student Paper awards.
