Junior Mechanical Design Engineer @ MTS Sensors Systems Engineer @ XinVivo Responsibilities as Systems Engineer involved planning and executing verification tests of intraoral x-ray imaging equipment prior to product launch and formally releasing resultant test reports. Performed incoming quality inspection of manufactured samples. Improved test method to provide quantitative input to Mechanical Engineering team to minimize radiation dose to patient. Led update to System Requirements and reviewed applicable IEC standards. From April 2019 to August 2019 (5 months) Morrisville, NCR&D Mechanical Engineer @ TearScience, Inc. Acquired by Johnson & Johnson Vision, my role transitioned from R&D to Manufacturing/Sustaining Engineering. As Mechanical Engineer, I provided part design to Manufacturing Engineers, comprising machined, sheet metal, and injection molded components and assemblies, to reduce customer complaints and increase reliability of capital equipment and high-volume disposable products. Created novel test fixture and accompanying documentation to increase throughput of manufacturing quality inspection and reduce rate of false errors. Contributed vital insight to Design of Experiments for new device material and presented concise test results to senior team members, significantly decreasing project lead time. From June 2017 to April 2019 (1 year 11 months) Morrisville, NCElectro Mechanical Engineer @ Alstom Supported the Electro-Mechanical team develop a new product. Duties varied from updating internal material specification sheets to performing stress simulations on vital components via SolidWorks Simulation and assuring various parts met industry specifications and safety regulations. From February 2016 to August 2016 (7 months) Rochester, New York AreaStudent Instructor @ Vertus Charter School Developed lesson plans and taught a work-engineering program for 9th grade students. Instruction was based on assembling e-NABLE hands and included an introduction to solid modeling and 3D-printing, with other introductory engineering concepts like design methodology and quality assurance. From June 2015 to August 2015 (3 months) Prosthetics Engineer @ e-NABLE I had a 16 week co-op where I dedicated my time to developing the Airy Arm, a 3D-printed dynamic arm orthosis for children with a paralyzed hand due to childhood epilepsy surgery. I presented this design at the following professional conferences: Prosthetists Meet 3D Printers (2014); the International Hemispherectomy Conference (2015); VentureWell OPEN (2015).
