When asked if he had any experience working with startups, Thomas said, "I have a lot of experience working with startups and I've been involved in a lot of capital raising and early stage companies. I often help lead or participate in the startup path, and I've had a lot of success teaching and working with startups." Thomas also spilled the beans on what it takes to be successful as a CEO, president, and COO in the startup world."When you're running a company, it's all about focus and being prepared for change," said Thomas. "When you're a CEO, president, or COO in a startup, you have to be dynamic and adaptable in order to stay ahead of the curve. You also have to be able to work with different people and managestaff effectively."Thomas elaborated on these principles, saying that it is important to possess the "mobility, agility, and focus" to be successful when leading a startup. In order to maintain a startup's focus, Thomas suggests constantly changing your mind-set andPOLICY in order to remain agile, futuristic, and constantlyresourceful."If you want to be successful in a startup, you have to be constantly surfing the waves of change," said Thomas. "You have to be constantly learning and constantly adapting to the latest trends and trends in the industry."Thomas believes that it is important to be proactive when it comes to leadership in a startup, and that this consistencies with his own experience as a CEO and president. "You have to be present, walk the talk, and be vocal when you need to be," said Thomas. "You also have to be able to motivate your staff and support their success."Thomas added that it is also important to be able to empathize with the employees of a startup and be motivated by the employees' success. He advises CEOs and presidents to have a positive relationship with their employees, and to foster a supportive work environment in order to maintain the employees' productivity.When it comes to compensation for a CEO in a startup, Thomas shows that he has a lot to teach. "When you're a CEO in a startup, you have to be veryBloody minutes to do' the job, so you need to get compensated very well," said Thomas. "You also have to have a lot of responsibility and have a lot of oversight over yourstaff. You need to be compensated appropriately for that."When asked if Thomas believes that technology has a role to play in the future of the CEO role, Thomas gives a definitive answer. "Technology has a lot to play in the future of the CEO role, and it will only get more important as the country's GDP grows," said Thomas. "People in leadership positions will have to be able to communicate with technology and know what it's doing."
