Bank Officer @ · Part of the International Operations Department (IOD). The IOD is the department that handles foreign exchange matters for the Bangko Sentral, including monitoring and approval of foreign-currency loans, trade, and investments. The IOD also recommends regulations and policies on foreign exchange matters for the Philippine banking system. The IOD was awarded the best department of the Monetary Stability Sector of the BSP for 2012. · Simultaneously leading the development, administration, and maintenance of the following software systems of the IOD: Foreign Loan Approval and Registration System, Foreign Direct Investment System, and the Foreign Portfolio Investment System. · Main provider of IT project management, administration, coordination, and technical support for the managers and staff of the IOD. Also ensures continuous development of the IODs systems in order to adapt to the department’s changing requirements as well as adapting to the changing monetary policies of the BSP. · Maintains proprietary Excel tools (with Macros) which dynamically calculate Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). From July 2010 to Present (5 years 6 months) PhilippinesSoftware Engineer / Team Leader @ · Assigned to Germany in 2007 to create a comprehensive software solution (meticulously written in C/C++) for a major German Set-Top Box (STB) manufacturer. The STB is a satellite receiver that has many features including record, playback, time shift, mosaic view, teletext, subtitles, comprehensive Electronic Program Guide (EPG), Common Interface (CI), MP3 Player, and Picture Viewer. In addition, the STB can save an entire channel list database (up to 7000 channels), plus favorite lists database, all into a compact file. Furthermore, this STB can even be connected via a Universal Serial Bus (USB) Interface, to be able to transfer files. This is between the STB and either a flash disk, or personal computer. Menus are provided in eight international languages, while providing language and full font support for each. · Assigned to Germany in 2008 at Fujitsu Microelectronics, Europe (FME) to create a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) solution to display high resolution video (written in C/C++). This is done in collaboration with the engineers at FME. · Written database-related tools to store information on various channels in a compact manner. This is on a STB for a different manufacturer (written in C/C++). · Tools Used: Microsoft Visual C++.Net, ARC International Metaware Toolset, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (including Microsoft Visual Basic Macro facility), Microsoft Power Point, and OpenOffice.org open source software. From June 2007 to December 2008 (1 year 7 months) Project Supervisor @ · Handled a team working on mobile applications related to displaying of images for Japanese cellular phones. Applications are written in C/C++ and XML, and must run under Windows and UNIX environments. · Created Excel-based Macros (written in Microsoft Visual Basic) to auto-generate testing specifications and save plenty of development time. · Tools Used : Vivid UI Tool, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (including Microsoft Visual Basic Macro facility), and Microsoft Power Point. From November 2006 to May 2007 (7 months) Section Head @ · Created many various multi-threaded C/C++ applications employing Bluetooth Wireless Technology. · Led several developers in developing wireless C/C++ software, involving all phases of development, from design, implementation, debugging, and up to the maintenance phases. · Successfully porting software made by a CMM Level 5 Indian company instead of letting them do it themselves. This saved the company thousands of Dollars. · Conducted many interviews and created C/C++ programming exams for many C/C++ software applicants. · Helped improve corporate-wide systems for ISO 9001:2000 compliance and also helped acquire that particular certification for Hugle Technologies. · Tools Used: Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, Microsoft Project, WinCVS, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. From August 2002 to August 2004 (2 years 1 month) Project Leader @ - Project Leader. · Project Leader of a carefully chosen, elite software engineering team, who helped in the creation of a C/C++ multi-threaded network protocol stack for Bluetooth. A protocol stack is a system of network driver software used to interface with the Bluetooth hardware for wireless connectivity. It is a market-driven product and is the first certified Bluetooth protocol stack in the entire Asian region. · Participated in the maintenance of some of the blocks of the stack. · Assigned to Hong Kong in 2002 to participate in various technical symposia related to the project. · Handled the design/coding of the initial program blocks since the project's inception. · Tools Used : Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. - Software Engineer. Helped in the porting of a large block of multi-threaded network software to be used for Canon enterprise-level printers (written in C). · The C code of the program was used for Novell Netware networks, which was to be embedded inside those Canon printers. · Tools Used: “gcc” (UNIX C compiler), VxWorks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
