As the owner and president of Carolina Bison, he was in charge of the business operations and was responsible for the marketing and sale of food products. Dr. King was born in Yuma, Arizona, on January 15, 1941. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966. After studying at the Life Chiropractor College and the Georgia School of Naturopathy, he completed his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1970.In 1970, Dr. King moved to Los Angeles, California and began practicing as a chiropractor. In 1974, he founded the Poor People's Campaign, an effort to bring attention to the pressing problems of social injustice and poverty. The campaign eventually achieved success, and Dr. King became the leader of the Poor People's Campaign.From 1976 to 1980, Dr. King served as the mayor of San Francisco. He then served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1984. After the convention, Dr. King founded Operation AMNESTY, an effort to end Mobutu's rule in Zaire.Later in his life, Dr. King devoted himself to foot work, working with inner-city communities in the United States and around the world. In 1992, he co-founded the Jesse Jackson Foundation. The Foundation continues to work to address pressing issues in poor Communities across the United States.Dr. King's work has helped countless people around the world, and his legacy will forever be remembered for the important work he has done to address social injustice and poverty.
