She began her company as a designer, working with luxury travel operators worldwide. In 2002, she founded "Dori Avishay Collections" with her husband, Ralf Avishay. The company is currently headquartered in New York City with signatures from Brigitte Bardot, cocktail designer Christian Lacroix, Yoko Ono, Home of Hepburn and Associates and Gucci.Avishay is a member of the Board of Directors of the non-profit Strategic Human Resources Solutions, as well as the advisory board for the Global Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the boards of directors for the St. Patrick’s Athletic Club, Rockefeller Foundation, United Way of the Greater New York City, and the American Express Foundation.Avishay has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business from New York University.
