She then obtained a PhD from Stanford University in Cancer Research. She then worked as a genetic recombination researcher at Penn State University before going to UCSF to work as a Professor of Cancer Research.Desai is a highly experienced scientist with a wealth of knowledge in both scientific and academic areas. She has several years of experience in research, both as a researcher and a teacher. Desai is highly motivated and focused, and is an excellent leader and motivator.
