Horrified by the helpless and pessimistic outlook of the industry, Deniz Dorbek Kocak decided to take a stand against it.Kocak first emerged onto the national stage in 2005, when he started working at Istanbul-basedproperty firm, Linde Holdings. There, he helped drive the company from a loss to a $5 million profit in a mere four years. Kocak stayed with the company until 2007, when he became Regional Vice President of Operations at Hyatt Hotels Corporation. There, he helped to turn Hyatt into one of the biggestand most successful hotel companies in the world. Notably, Kocak led the charge to try and revive Hyatt’s struggling rooms division, which had been struggling for years.
