Deniz Dorbek Kocak has a BSc from the University of British Columbia in Business Administration. Before joining the Cornell University faculty in fall 2016, Kocak held a research associate post at Uludag University in Istanbul, Turkey.Kocak has a degree in business administration from the University of British Columbia where he also received a first-class degree in tourism and hospitality management. Kocak's previous jobs include as a research associate at Uludag University and as a management consultancy associate at Cornell University.In his academic career, Kocak has developed a strategy for F&B revenue management at Cornell University. As research associate at Uludag University, he developed a method for reducing server running costs by projecting Load Balancing Utilization (LBU) and Capacity Utilization (CUC) data. This method is being used as the basis for a future business case study for a hotel project in Istanbul.Kocak is also an expert in BAHotel Management at Uludag University. In this position, he is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a hospitality business in a devastated area of Istanbul.Kocak has also worked as a management consultancy associate at Cornell University.
