Reporting to the Purchasing Director, my duties are: • Complete end to end management of all beverage suppliers (beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and hot beverages); negotiation of all commercial terms, inc price, marketing funds, rebates and payment. Spend in this area is around £35M • Negotiation and management of logistics and distribution contracts for the above. • Identification, implementation and realisation of savings and cost avoidance opportunities • Management of monthly category reviews with senior commercial and operations managers. • Category management - ranging and stocking decisions, promotions and incentives, analysis and interpretation of market trends and competitor activity. • Maximisation of supplier funding for staff incentives and customer facing promotions • New Product Development and new supplier implementation projects. • Financial Analysis and Reporting, particularly in relation to sales and margins. Agreeing and implementing supplier KPIs. • Line management responsibility for two non-food buyers (catering equipment (light and heavy), waste services at al.) and a Purchasing Administrator. From January 2007 to May 2015 (8 years 5 months) Buyer @ Sodexho is a French owned global competitor in the Catering Industry. Reporting to the Purchasing Controller, my duties involved: • Negotiation of prices, listing fees and rebates with branded manufacturers of hot beverages, soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits • Analysis of financial and sales data for use in range planning and also in monthly reporting to the Procurement Director. • Working closely with Marketing to ensure range compliance and maximum benefit to the company through use of the most advantageous supplier terms. • Use of the SAP system to monitor supplier financial performance. • Writing Purchasing Category Plans for my own areas. From May 2003 to December 2006 (3 years 8 months) Procurement Manager @ MBDA is an Anglo-French subsidiary of BAE SYSTEMS employing 2500 people in the UK, working on defence contracts both for UK MoD and export customers. Reporting to the Procurement Director, my duties included: • Management of £30 million of existing sub-contracts for military hardware and software applications, drafting sub-contract terms and conditions and handling subsequent supplier negotiations • Advising internal customers on commercial strategy, adherence to procurement policy, strategic procurement options etc. • Development of sound working relationships with sub-contractors at all levels, being the day-to-day interface between MBDA and its major suppliers. • Use of project management skills to interpret sub-contractor programmes of work and to ensure their continued adherence to project milestones. • Monitoring key performance indices for my sub-contractors. Use of the SAP system to monitor financial targets and manage cash flow. From August 2000 to April 2003 (2 years 9 months) Buyer @ GLS Dudley was a company supplying equipment to educational establishments. Reporting to the Director of Purchasing and Marketing, duties involved: • Selection of product for inclusion in the catalogue, working closely with some the major branded manufacturers in my areas, negotiating prices, terms and marketing contribution from suppliers. Setting selling prices, ensuring that tight budgets were met and margins adhered to • Writing catalogue copy, proof reading and approving page designs. • Making presentations to the board of directors on my product range and profitability From January 1999 to August 2000 (1 year 8 months) Supply Manager @ Agco is a global manufacturer of agricultural equipment under the Massey Ferguson brand. Reporting to the Director of Supply, duties included: • Day to day management of a team of five expeditors and materials planners. • Project leader for European logistics project.
