From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Director & CTO @ The Test Factory provides online assessment solutions to Corporate and Education clients including Microsoft, Cisco, HSBC, Johnson & Johnson, Pret A Manger, City & Guilds, Rosetta Stone and Oxford University Press. Assessments are taken in over 200 countries and 20 languages each month. As part of the original founding team, my role was to grow and lead the technology and the team from humble beginnings to providing highly scalable solutions tailored to the needs of numerous Fortune 500 and blue chip clientele. The business was acquired by GL Education in August 2014, the leading provider of tests in UK schools, delivering to over 70% of Primary and Secondary schools. From April 2008 to December 2014 (6 years 9 months) Software Engineer @ • Key member during the development of a digital marketing platform, which is core to the business. The application is written using amongst others, .Net 2.0, SQL 2005, CSLA.NET and AJAX technologies. Key performance 1billion emails. Responsibilities included all stages of the system lifecycle, and a key role in defining requirements, design, implementation, testing and training. • Project managed the migration of clients and data to the new platform (detailed above). This involved project planning key milestones, coordinating with other key deliverables, e.g. training and marketing, managing the test programme, and defining and implementing data and client migration strategies. From February 2006 to March 2008 (2 years 2 months) Application Developer @ • Developed an IVR transcription and data capture tool for use with multiple clients which vastly improves efficiency, speed and accuracy over the existing solution. • Worked on a Point of Sale E-Commerce website for a large soft drinks client. • Ongoing development of a web based stock management system. • Involved in producing a number of internal reports within the company using SQL Reporting services. From September 2005 to February 2006 (6 months) Application Developer @ • Developed a web based database driven Call Data Capture system with scripting and conditional branching. The flexible nature of the data capture elements means that it can be used in a number of campaigns, both inbound and outbound. The ease of creating new scripts has reduced the turnaround time for some projects from weeks to days. • I worked as the main developer to produce a dynamically scripted DRTV solution for a high profile media client. This flexible system allows agents to easily capture customer details, handle peak schedules and aids cross-sales of products. It is currently in use in a 100+ seat call centre and has received nominations for awards within Ignite, being described as ‘truly innovative, feature rich and user friendly’ and by the client as ‘one of the best systems they had seen compared to other call centres’. • Produced a QM system to enable ISO 9000 certification for the company. From May 2004 to August 2005 (1 year 4 months) Developer @ • During summer 2003 we worked with a major TV company to re-launch their website. Deadlines within this project were fixed in order to link in with re-branding on screen. • I have been a lead designer in creating a structured development environment with automatic versioning and database generation.
