Develop many prototype / test apps to learn various areas of iOS app development. This was an excellent way to build solid foundations, allowing self-paced focus to fully understand the many areas comprising an iOS application.Note: Individual entries below Elk Grove, California, United StatesiOS: Proteus: Senior iOS Architect / Developer @ Cemico Inc. Helped to complete critical tickets and fill the void from my departure. Some tasks included creating a new universal logger to use across multiple apps/frameworks, and demonstrating a POC solution of creating a new app from a saved archive by resigning and updating bundle ids and such - no rebuilding, a promotion step from a unique beta app into another unique published release app. From April 2019 to July 2019 (4 months) Redwood City, CAiOS: Pinn: Senior iOS Architect / Developer @ Cemico Inc. Much like before, I was brought in to fill the gap of a leaving iOS developer while a replacement was found. During this time, Pinn's technology direction had changed from providing a full product solution to providing an SDK allowing integration into many other products. I helped out mostly in another Demo app, with a few SDK updates. Onkore is a platform for interacting with live events, such reality shows, sports, etc. In a part time role, and as the main iOS developer, I have responsibility for all areas of the app. The app communicates through REST services to a Node / Mongo backend, and also receives / sends live socket communications. The iPad app was written in Objective C, while the iPhone app was a full rewrite, initially in Swift 2.x, and now in Swift 3.x.https://vimeo.com/135858491 From November 2014 to March 2016 (1 year 5 months) Redwood City, CAiOS: Crimaps: Senior iOS Architect / Developer @ Cemico Inc. In a limited part time role, created an iOS app which tracks the current crimes around certain addresses and/or GPS locations. From August 2015 to January 2016 (6 months) San Jose, CAiOS: Twrrl: Senior iOS Architect / Developer @ Cemico Inc. iOS 8 upgrade of app I originally wrote and released under iOS 5 and iOS 6. I worked alongside 2 other developers, taking early POC work and turning it into an actual product. I had two main areas of responsibilities. First, I was involved with handling all the contact management, social sharing, camera integration, photo caching, custom album, collection viewing, deleting, and sharing. Secondly, I was involved with the map functionality, incorporating Skobbler maps, with a custom overlay interface, turn-by-turn directions, communicating the map data not only visually, but also via audio and BLE to the helmet.Favorite quote: “You seem to be really really good at digging into 3rd party frameworks and making shit work….”, April 28, 2015 via MB.http://www.skully.com/http://productops.com/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFF99F3BHsI From April 2015 to May 2015 (2 months) Santa Cruz, CAiOS: United Nations / AT&T: Product Manager / Senior iOS Developer @ Cemico Inc. After several successful previous contracts with Product Ops, I was called upon to code, staff, and manage the biggest end client to date, the non-profit United Nations, via AT&T funding. This involved both an Android and iOS front end, a database and REST server back end, as well as a web interface for the database management. I was responsible for the iOS product, and managed my team spanning from India, Boston, and California. We successfully delivered our milestones until AT&T put things on hold as they were working out the intricacies of dealing with a world-wide non-profit organization.http://www.wfp.org/http://productops.com/https://www.linkedin.com/company/united-nations/ From September 2014 to December 2014 (4 months) Santa Cruz, CAiOS: CA Technologies: Senior iOS Architect / Developer @ Cemico Inc. After two successful concept apps shown at CA World 2013, I was brought back to do another for CA World 2014, debuting in November in Las Vegas. This app was among the minimal set of requirements I’ve seen. I hunted down the data, created the app how I thought best it should be, and finished it a few weeks earlier than planned, which allowed me to enhance it with some nice customizations. The project easily came in on time and with added functionality and time for formal documentation. This app was a sales and marketing tool to be distributed to all the customer facing staff to help sell other services, which I had integrated and was demonstrable via a demo environment. I set it up so that new services could be easily added. The app pulled the data that the existing web site used, so was also a companion app for the web site.http://www.ca.com/us/https://www.linkedin.com/company/ca-technologies/ From October 2014 to November 2014 (2 months) Sunnyvale, CAiOS: Auction Mobility: Senior iOS Developer @ Cemico Inc. Upon hire, I was asked to evaluate the current 2-3 year troubled iOS project. After review, and questioning from the CTO downward, I kept 1% of the existing code (one keychain class). After I re-architected and rewrote the app in iOS 6 / Objective C, I had it approved and in the app store within 4 months. The code reduced in complexity and size, going from ~2m loc to ~40k loc. Updates and enhancements has taken the app from iOS6 through iOS 7, iOS 8, and now iOS 9. The app underwent another full rewrite during iOS 8, when we converted to C# / Xamarin for all mobile platforms, Android, Windows, and iOS. I performed this rewrite for iOS, which interacts with a vehicle communication layer on the hardware side (using WiFi or BLE), and interacts with the hybrid web side via various forms of Java Scripting bridging. I also did the 64-bit upgrade for iOS 8 and wrote authorization and validation REST communication layer, and added camera and barcode support for the scanning of VINs.Some of the more complex areas are the handling of the proper foreground / background queues and threads, the differences between UIWebView and WKWebView, and the changing support for JS bridging between iOS 6-9. I added a live debugging panel which provides many useful items when trying to determine the root cause of a system with many moving parts. Some such items in this area are direct access to existing user preferences, keychain handling, and logging overrides, storage, compression, and emailing. To date, I've had 10 app store submissions with 0 rejections. The current composition of the app is C#, HTML 5, Angular, Bootstrap, Typescript, with socket communications to the hardware via WiFi or BLE.ALLDATA is a subsidiary of AutoZone, a multi-billion dollar company.App: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alldata-mobile/id697105390?mt=8.http://www.alldata.com/alldata-mobile3 From March 2014 to April 2016 (2 years 2 months) Elk Grove, CAManager, Architect, and Sr. Software Developer @ Avaya Inc. Implement and/or delegate hands on solutions. Work closely with team members in all capacities. Support my manager in everything, any time, any day. The team is diverse in skills, which allows creativity in solutions. The most common thread is .NET applications with Oracle and SQL Server back ends. Translate the needs of customers into project plans and execute them in the given timelines. Responsibility for server uptime, source control, software processes, and disaster recovery plans.
