Daniel Shipps is a senior software engineer at pSemi, a Murata Company from February 2017 to March 2019 (2 years 2 months) in Greater San Diego Area. Before joining pSemi, Shipps was a staff software developer at Dexcom. Shipps created an internal web application that reads in Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and generates test configurations for the automated test systems (ATEs) in the company. This configuration is pushed out to the ATEs along with control vectors generated from the product's register map. Once test data is produced by the ATEs the application automatically picks up the data logs and populates the Characterization matrix in the PRD with nominal and worst case; min, max, mean, and sigma for each spec. The system is capable of graphically displaying this data and provides a system for excluding outlier or repeat data. The app was created using ASP.NET Core (backend) and Angular (frontend). It leverages Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server for persistence.Shipps created a generic framework for automated test systems (ATEs) that provides a set of tools to help the Automation team quickly develop Systems for both RF and DC products. The Framework provides a reusable and reconfigurable user interface via plugins allowing for new measurements to be added quickly. The UI portion of the framework is built using WPF and employs the MVVM design pattern while leveraging NI Test Stand as the sequencer. The framework also includes a set of extensible Instrument drivers for test and measurement equipment written in C#.Shipps also worked on the development and support of automated test systems for LNA, PA, and RF switch products using a variety of languages including C#, MATLAB, TestStand, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, C, and C++. He was also a part of a small team designing the company’s first automated PA test system. The system supports the testing of 3GPP specs for LTE, WCDMA, CDMA2000, GSM, and EDGE.Supported measurements by the system include ACP/ACLR, EVM, Harmonics, Noise Power, PVT, ORFS, PAE, and Gain.In his previous role, Shipps was also a senior software development engineer at Dexcom in United States. He worked on the development and support of automated test systems for LNA, PA, and RF switch products using a variety of languages including C#, MATLAB, TestStand, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, C, and C++. His previous position at Dexcom also involved organizing many events including two state wide robotics competitions held at UCSD.
