Head of Service Transition - Managed Services @ Head of function for mature Service Transiton & Integration function across Global Managed Services department incorporating Infrastructure Operations, Datacentre, Service Management and Service Desk functions. Leadership and strategic development of Service Transition & Integration processes and products used across UK and off-shore delivery locations.
Leadership of a team of 30+ service transition and transformation focussed project management resources and four portfolio managers with a significant active portfolio and pipeline of pre-sales and implementation projects for both new business and service change. Led strategic development of a Service Integration function by combining multiple business take-on functions. During this time I led the introduction of portfolio management processes, tools and products as part of a growing function, managing the service integration of a rapidly increasing pipeline.
Latterly performed a portfolio management role, representing senior users of service providers into governance boards and overseeing the delivery of multiple Service Integration projects. From November 1997 to February 2004 (6 years 4 months) Computer Officer @ My position at WYP was that of computer officer. My position involved the administration of a Solaris Unix environment on which the Command and Control systems resided. I was also responsible for the support, implementation and maintenance of the force GIS system.
This experience taught me a great deal about critical systems, because these really were systems that peoples lives could depend on, hence I enjoyed the pressure. From August 2000 to April 2001 (9 months) Senior Programmer @ Started as trainee and within 3 months of arriving I was promoted to programmer.
Became senior programmer and at that point spent a lot of time working on site with the customer on the transition of a new contract (due diligence, service modelling). From November 1997 to August 2000 (2 years 10 months) Trainee Programmer/Operator @ Trainee Programmer although due to the size of the IT department there I was also responsible for a large amount of operations.
My role progressed to programmer before I left to move away from operations into a more focussed development role. From February 1996 to November 1997 (1 year 10 months)
