Programmes/Projects included: • NSW Power Acquisition was a 3 year Programme involving the integration of 1.6m new Retail customers into Origin systems representing a 60% growth in customers and systems. This made Origin to the largest energy retailer in Australia and was the largest SAP integration ever undertaken in Australia. As the Technology Manager my responsibilities included managing multiple infrastructure upgrade and remediation projects including: - SAP Production & non Production environments - Multiple UNIX, Wintel and Linux based Legacy Retail Systems - Telephony and Avaya System - Establish new Call Centre This involved working closely with Senior Management, various Business, Application, Testing & Operations teams and 3rd party vendors (including Wipro, HP, Telstra and Aegis) to enable the operational management of the contract, development of migration, testing and cutover activities. • Data Centre Exit Programme involved relocating Production and Non Production applications from two legacy data centres in Adelaide into HP hosted data centres in Sydney. • New Customer SAP NetWeaver Portal. Manage a team of 30 including architecture, application development, testing and infrastructure teams to design and build a new Customer Self-Serve Portal environment. This project involved hosting a new Internet based service from within Origin’s own Data Centres that required strengthening the security of DMZ as well as adding the resilience and high availability expected of an enterprise website. From November 2009 to April 2015 (5 years 6 months) Sydney, AustraliaSenior Project Manager @ As a Senior Project Manager with Sportingbet my key projects involved managing a combination of .Net web development projects using Agile methodologies and managing a Programme of infrastructure works. Projects included: • Build new South African .Net domain including Sports Book and Games Room. Working with IT, Operations and Marketing departments to develop a new website that conforms to South African licensing requirements and expand business to South African market • Video streaming project involved working with a new third party video streaming provider to add over 3,000 live streamed sporting events per year across 25 websites. • Production Data Centre relocation from Antigua to Guernsey. This project involved managing the network and infrastructure requirements for relocation of production Sports Book and Games Room data centre. This involved building 50+ new servers, core networking and firewall hardware and WAN services, working with internal development, QA and third party gaming suppliers to test and cutover to new environment. • Build a new development environment rationalising over 30 standalone servers and services onto virtual server cluster. This project also involved building new database server and upgrading Oracle to version 11g. • Dublin Data Centre relocation. Sportingbet run a 24 hour Customer Service from Dublin with over 150 staff. This project involved relocating their Data Centre to a co-hosted environment and upgrading servers, firewalls and IP Telephony system. From February 2008 to October 2009 (1 year 9 months) London, United KingdomSenior Project Manager @ As a Project Manager with News Limited & News Digital Media my key projects involved managing the successful deployment of National Infrastructure projects (including implementing a new MPLS Network), refreshing infrastructure that support various Internet sites (including,,,,, integrating new business acquisitions (including FPC Acquisition) and enterprise application development. Projects included: • Replacing Tru64 Database Server with IBM p570 Enterprise Server, DS4800 SAN, Brocade Storage Switches and new NetBackup implementation. • Server virtualisation. This project involved the consolidation of standalone Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and various other web application servers onto new HP Blade server farm running VMware . • Managing IT transition activities of new business acquisition The Federal Publishing Company. This involved integrating a new Data Centre into exiting operational support structure and adding an addition 30+ websites to current portfolio managed by the operations and application development teams, including,, and • Implementing new MPLS Network across 110 sites. The deal negotiated with Optus provided increased bandwidth to all News Limited sites around Australia at a reduced cost, the refresh of Cisco network equipment and increased redundancy at key sites. • Gather requirements and deliver a new company Intranet using SharePoint 2007. This involved working closely with team members and subject matter experts such as Experience Architects, User Research Experts, Solution Architects and Business Representatives. From December 2006 to October 2007 (11 months) Sydney, AustraliaProject Manager @ As a Project Manager my key projects involved managing the successful deployment of Enterprise IT Infrastructure, WAN/LAN design & implementation, Wireless LAN, new data centre builds, office relocations, ERP (SAP) implementations, IT outsourcing, contract transition negotiations and web application development projects. In this role I dealt extensively with senior management and clients from early tender or business case stages through to transitioning new business both nationally and internationally. Projects included: • National Data Centre relocation which involved migrating 150+ servers, core networking and firewall hardware and core WAN services. • Implementing new MPLS Network across 57 sites. • Managing IT transition activities of new business acquisition Serco NZ. This added a new data centre, 400+ users and an addition 30+ offices across New Zealand to Transfield network. • Wellington office relocation.
