Managing stock performance:
Ensuring timely ordering and planning of scheduled orders is in place to meet business requirements.
Analysing stock performance and stock values to achieve optimum balance in line with monthly sales forecasts.
Leading the process to reduce aged stock in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Review and implementation of forecast factors into the Demand system.
Managing supply chain:
Working with suppliers on a day to day basis with particular attention to quality of service, stock availability, and pricing. Holding regular review meetings to maintain relationships, review issues and to pursue opportunities.
Sourcing new suppliers, establishing SLA’s and negotiating contractual terms.
Initiating or responding to deal opportunities, in order to earn rebate or to secure stock.
Reporting on the Purchasing function:
Issuing weekly updates on KPI performance and on key issues.
Producing a monthly Inventory report to document results and to discuss issues relating to Inventory values, In stock performance, Stock quality, Stock ageing and order fulfilment.
Managing the Purchasing team, with responsibility for setting quarterly objectives, training and development, appraisals and recruitment.
Developing systems and processes:
Reviewing and developing the Demand and Buying systems, and Purchasing reports.
Ensuring that Work Instructions are up to date and are adhered to. From July 2012 to Present (3 years 6 months) Purchasing Analyst @ Responsible for purchasing and supplier management for designated business units within IT distribution (PC Components, Print Supplies and Print Hardware.) My main focus was to deliver excellent stock availability within agreed levels of monthly spend in accordance with KPI’s, and to work closely with Category Managers in order to meet business goals.
Key responsibilities included:
Working to, and reporting on KPI targets for product availability, value of stock holding and value of aged stock.
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors, customers, Category teams, Operations teams and other key personnel to create a more efficient supply chain.
Managing vendors to meet expected service levels and to obtain competitive advantage and improved profitability.
Seasonal / promotional stock management to meet business requirements.
Managing gains and losses to P+L through price protection, inventory impairment and price adjustments.
Developing and motivating all reports to achieve business KPI’s and individual goals. From March 2006 to June 2012 (6 years 4 months) Purchasing Manager @ Responsible for the planning and execution of all purchase orders to support EMEA sales.
Key responsibilities included:
Forecasting stock requirements to place scheduled orders with Far East suppliers. The suppliers would put each new order into production, with a delivery time of 4 – 6 months.
Working with Product Development and Marketing to plan order requirements and product releases to tie in with demanding seasonal deadlines.
Setting trade and retail prices of product ranges, to provide competitive and consistent pricing across the Russ Berrie range, and to meet expected levels of margin.
Reporting on and managing slow moving and obsolete stock.
Responsible for weekly stock availability updates to EMEA sales team.
