I'm an undergraduate student at Princeton University, with academic interests in computer science, applied and computational mathematics, and physics. At this point in my life, I most highly value learning, especially and even outside of school. I value opportunities that provide pipelines for me to learn about engineering, but also about business, product, and marketing.
I also care deeply about STEM education and communication, with the goal of bridging the gap between technologists and non-technologists. I believe effective STEM communicators, coupled with more STEM-literate listeners will be pivotal to future policy decisions and innovations in the industry. I work towards this through campus organizations (http://princetoninnovation.org), my studies, and the mindset with which I approach the tech industry.
Private Tutor @ Individually tutor a variety of students and subjects, including middle school and high school math and science, SAT preparation, and middle school advanced contest math, including MathCounts, AMC 8, and other forms of math and science enrichment.
. From June 2011 to September 2015 (4 years 4 months) Software Engineering Intern @ As a full-stack web developer, I built, tested, and analyzed the Inbox Compose button feature. I also refactored existing private message functionality and implemented tracking and data analysis of results from launch to all 70,000 neighborhoods.
As an iOS developer, I created a reusable and extensible web view to handle a verify neighbors page on the native app. Project will serve as the prototypical example of using a native-feeling web view instead of native in appropriate situations for faster iterative development at Nextdoor. From June 2015 to August 2015 (3 months) San Francisco Bay AreaKPCB Engineering Fellow @ From June 2015 to August 2015 (3 months) Co-Founder @ Helped found the world's first ever science magazine run entirely by undergraduates. Spearheaded a successful Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/108938845/international-collegiate-science-journal) with 8 other universities to fund the endeavor. Managed social media marketing via Facebook as well as through Kickstarter. Helped push the magazine to publication, delivering magazines to 9 universities as well as to our Kickstarter backers. Check us out at icsjournal.org. From April 2014 to August 2015 (1 year 5 months) Research Intern @ Worked in Professor Sigurd Wagner's lab through the Program in Plasma Science and Technology internship. Determined magnetron sputtering conditions for preparing films of the organic semiconductor zinc oxide for use in zinc oxide thin film transistors. Learned and mastered extensive cleanroom techniques required for semiconductor fabrication, ranging from metal sputtering, wet/dry etch, photolithography, and annealing. From June 2014 to August 2014 (3 months) Department of Electrical EngineeringTutor @ As an SAT and SSAT test prep tutor, worked closely with middle school and high school students via an online teaching platform and video chat. Developed, planned, and executed customized lesson plans spanning from 10-15 weeks for each student. From July 2013 to July 2014 (1 year 1 month) Undergraduate Researcher @ Worked in relic neutrino detection at the PTOLEMY project with Professor Chris Tully and the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab. Specifically focused on particle simulations of beta electrons from tritium decay through a MAC-E filter using CERN's Geant4 toolkit. From June 2013 to August 2013 (3 months) Department of PhysicsGrader/Teaching Assistant @ From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Teaching Assistant @ Worked as a teaching assistant for a summer math camp for middle school girls, sponsored by the state math circle. From July 2011 to July 2012 (1 year 1 month) Colorado Math Circle
