His first teaching position was as a Lecturer in Computer Science at Boston University from 2005-2006. Since then, Selin has been a faculty member at Northeastern University in Boston, United States.Selin's research focus has been in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. His recent papers have focused on the development of new ways to solveICA (Inference and Classification), an HPC problem formerly considered to be difficult and time-consuming to solve. Selin's research groups have also been working on a new neural network framework that is able to solve the ICA problem in significantly faster time than existing algorithms.Christopher Selin's work readiness jumps onto the radar screen right after his senior year at Boston University. In his senior year, Selin was a member of the Computer Science Department's Top 20% team in a competition hosted by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Selin's team was ultimately successful in winning the Second Place prize, earning him the chance to stay on the team for one more year before the next competition. Selin was also the runner up for the American Environment Award, which is given to the best undergraduate student in the department. Selin's team's work reflected Selin's maturity in the field of Computer Science. Selin's team's work and, more importantly, his workshop skills show that Selin is well-prepared to teach, conduct research, and compete in research competitions.
