A graduate of New York University's College of Arts and Sciences, Chris Clouten is a developer and entrepreneur based out of Brooklyn, NY. After graduating with honors with a degree in economics and food studies, Chris began working in the New York City startup scene with a leading mobile adtech company, Pontiflex (now CrossBoard Mobile), doing business development. It was here that he discovered his passion for code.
Starting with Python, Chris taught himself programming and transitioned over to the development team at Pontiflex in February 2013. Later that year Chris helped launch Compylr, a tech publication covering products, companies and topics in technology. After gaining valuable experience with Python, Java, and C at Pontiflex, Chris moved to Harry's Grooming in February of 2014, where he currently plies his trade as a data engineer.
At Harry's Chris works across teams to solve business problems, working primarily with Ruby, Rails and PostgreSQL. Building on his experience with Compylr, Chris has also gone on to be published twice in 2014 in Quartz, a digitally native news outlet for business people in the new global economy.
In his free time Chris loves to work through stacks of data and develop new and interesting applications. Outside of the terminal, Chris has a passion for music (with an expansive record collection), origami, biking, tattoos and Arsenal Football Club.
