Director of Educational Programming @ Overall responsibility to provide leadership, guidance and direction for the Education Department of the North American Spine Society (NASS), a multidisciplinary medical specialty society of spine care specialists including: orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiatrists and pain management specialists.
Innovate, develop and produce new and existing continuing medical education activities including regional hands-on cadaver courses, surgical skills techniques workshops, and didactic forums in conjunction with Annual Meeting in accordance with healthcare accreditation guidelines.
Facilitate Education Council, the Board of Directors, faculty and CME advisory committees to review and update program education curriculum and learning objectives.
Oversight and management of NASS in-house ACCME compliance and documentation system and re-accreditation application. Attained prestigious level of “Accreditation with Commendation” by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) for excellence in providing accredited CME for physicians.
Identify corporate support and sponsorship opportunities for regional hands-on courses, workshops and conferences.
Responsible for overall management of the Annual Meeting to include conference planning, liaison to members, NASS staff and educational components of program.
Enhance membership retention and recruitment strategies by creating program activities and products for new and existing member constituencies based on educational needs assessments.
Develop and manage activity budgets as well as provide financial reporting and performance tracking.
Develop, proof and edit marketing copy and supporting text for brochures, preliminary and final programs of NASS CME programming. From February 2002 to Present (13 years 11 months) Assistant Director, Continuing Legal Education @ Planned and marketed over 200 highly-acclaimed Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Young Lawyers Section (YLS) seminars per bar year for the Chicago Bar Association (CBA), one of the oldest and most active metropolitan bar associations in the United States, consisting of over 22,000 lawyers and judges from Cook County and the State of Illinois.
Developed programs for seminars presented by the Continuing Legal Education department of the CBA.
Designed and edited seminar brochures, advertisements and flyers used to publicize upcoming programs.
Wrote articles for weekly CBA Report Page in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin legal newspaper to promote/announce CLE events.
Proofed, edited and formatted CLE/YLS seminar speaker materials for inclusion in CLE Institute section of CBA Web Site.
Responsible for all aspects of conference planning including: topic/site selection, venue/contract negotiation, food and beverage, audio-visual, speaker confirmation, event promotion and onsite management of CLE/YLS programs.
Developed and monitored the department budget.
Negotiated yearly contracts with advertising providers, such as The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin to secure quotes 50% lower than published rates.
Marketed catalogs of seminar videotapes and materials available for rental and purchase.
Evaluated speakers and provide recommendations for seminar improvements.
Conducted monthly committee meetings to report on all department activities. From February 1997 to February 2002 (5 years 1 month) Education Coordinator @ Supervised the administration of continuing education seminars for chapters of a national association of real estate appraisers.
