Primarily, I'm a family man with a wife, two kids, a mortgage and four awesome siblings. I've travelled the world (60 countries and counting), surf every other day and spend any and all free time being creative.
Around that, I've accrued 17-years of experience in magazine, website and digital publishing as a video games expert, travel writer and general entertainment specialist. In that time I have been involved in or presided over the launch of seven commercial magazines and four commercial websites, worked as a consultant on game development and in news media, appeared on TV and contributed to over 60 publications. I have been nominated for multiple awards, the highlights of which have been three victories at the Australian Magazine Awards and winning the inaugural MCV Pacific awards for 2013 Journalist of the Year and Media Outlet of the Year.
As of 2013 I founded my own publishing company, Old Mate Media, as a content creation house for text and video creation, digital and print design, and website development. My first title is Grab It, a digital magazine focused on indie games, which ten months after launch was announced as a finalist in the Digital Magazine Awards for 2014. Grab It was also the official indie game show guide for the giant PAX AUS conference in October of 2014.
While not working on any of the above, I write kid's books, run a YouTube channel and have recently completed a building course, getting hands-on with renovations and construction.
I'm always on the hunt for interesting and fun ideas to explore.
