💼 Past Experience

Chris Short began his career in 1999 as a Systems/Network Security Engineer at McClatchy Interactive. He slowly worked his way up the ladder and eventually landed his first position as Senior Security Engineer at McClatchy Interactive in 2012. From there, he moved on to a position as Principal Technical Marketing Manager at Red Hat, where he manage Red Hat's hybrid platform products. He has also worked as a Senior DevOps Advocate at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from June 2018 to August 2019. between June 2017 and November 2017, he also was a Global DevOps Engineer at SolarWave in June 2016 to June 2017, and a reachback Tech Controller at 83d Communications Squadron from May 2000 to May 2002. In May 2014, he left Red Hat to join Windstream Hosted Solutions, where he became a Platform Support Engineer. He has also worked as a Support Operations Specialist at McClatchy Interactive from January 2011 to February 2012. from August 2007 to December 2010, he was a NCOIC, Network Administration at 43d Communications Squadron. From there, he moved on to a position as Deputy Unit Deployment Manager at 566th Intelligence Squadron. Finally, he worked as a Webmaster at SanTech Computer Services from September 1998 to July 1999 before leaving for McClatchy Interactive in July 2001. From there he worked as a Systems/Network Security Engineer at McClatchy Interactive from June 2012 to March 2014, where he managed the company's Switching, Firewalls, and DNS resources. He also worked as a Senior DevOps Advocate at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from June 2018 to August 2019.

Chris Short's educational background and work readiness are based on his associates degree from Community College of the Air Force in January 2010. He wasctioned to the Army Reserve in May of that year and completed Stockham Air National Guard's Officer Basic Training in October 2010. Short was then commissioned into the U.S. Army Reserve in October 2010 and completed Officer Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in November 2010. After completing Officer Basic Training, he subsequently completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Lewis, Washington in January 2011.Chris Short has completed over 200 hours of training, including over 30 hours of infantry Basic Combat Training. He has also completed more than 500 hours of combat-related training. In his time in the military, he has attaining multiple awards including the Meritorious Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Medals.
