What industry does Chloe Fellows work in?
Chloe Fellows works in the Environmental Services industry.
I am a multi-disciplinary consultant specialising in air quality. I have a keen commercial and business awareness and am proactive in gaining an understanding of the competitive market. I enjoy the technical challenges that working in the field of air quality can bring, and relish the opportunities to use my problem solving skills on some of the more unusual projects. Working at a variety of different sized consultancies, I have gained in-depth experience and knowledge of various air quality tools and software including DMRB, ADMS, Breeze Roads, AERMOD and the GIS software ArcView 3.3 and ArcGIS 9.3. Working at some of the smaller consultancies has also meant that where money and software is a constraint, I have been able to think outside the box in providing solutions to technical problems.Senior Consultant - Air Quality @ From June 2014 to Present (1 year 6 months) Full Time Mother @ From July 2013 to June 2014 (1 year) Environmental Consultant (Air Quality) @ I managed and helped to expand the air quality team through successfully recruiting a new graduate consultant. Since joining the team, I was responsible for the training of the new graduate consultant, managing workload and the output of the team for a variety of assessment and monitoring projects. I was keen to take on a client facing role within the company, which meant dealing directly with clients on a daily basis, providing technical and business solutions where necessary. This helped to develop existing client relationships whilst building a new client base through active business development. Specifically with regard to the air quality team, I was proactive in ensuring that the team was up to date on key technical developments and follows current best practice. I fully managed air quality assessments through the entire project life cycle; overseeing all aspects of the project through the bid process through to project completion. During my time at ACCON I increased the profitability of air quality assessments by 30%. I achieved this by fully costing up each project and ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget, and I was consistently above 90% chargeable. In addition, I developed other technical skills, for example in the field of odour assessment and control, daylight and sunlight assessments and lighting studies. I successfully completed courses on both odour assessments and 3D modelling for Daylight and Sunlight studies. From August 2011 to July 2013 (2 years) Reading, United KingdomAssistant Air Quality Consultant @ I continued to develop my technical and assistant project management skills in particular working on large highways projects for the Highways Agency (England) and Road Services (Northern Ireland). I was involved with the planning and implementation of a 12 month ambient nitrogen dioxide (NO2) monitoring programme across approximately 60 background and roadside monitoring locations in Northern Ireland. I was also successful in implementing a programme of PM10 monitoring at a roadside location in Omagh, Northern Ireland, to provide suitable monitoring data for reporting purposes. I worked on a number of both large and small scale air quality assessments, in particular working as part of the core team on the M60 Managed Motorways Scheme in Manchester, which involved developing innovative solutions to the problem of potentially modelling over 17,000 roads across the Manchester area. From November 2008 to August 2011 (2 years 10 months) Air Quality Consultant @ I continued to develop my project management capabilities whist at WSP acting as bid manager and project manager on a variety of air quality assessment projects. I have been successful in preparing commercially aware air quality proposals and tenders. Whist at WSP I was predominantly involved with the provision of air quality assessments for stand alone projects and Environmental Impact Assessments. I also continued to develop both internal and external client relationships and was actively involved with business development. Due to the economic climate in 2008 I was made redundant in the November. From June 2008 to November 2008 (6 months) Air Quality Consultant @ I gained project management experience on a wide variety of projects while at Temple, in particular acting as assistant technical project manager (air quality) on the Thameslink Programme for Network Rail. I also successfully managed a consultation exercise, gaining experience liaising with a wide variety of clients and key stakeholders including Network Rail, Mace, KPMG and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Trust. I gained experience establishing and managing large programmes of air quality monitoring, and have particular experience monitoring particulates, dust and nitrogen dioxide using both continuous and passive devices. I researched and developed a key programme of Aspergillus sampling at Guy’s Hospital and established a proxy monitoring method utilising particulates as a proxy for Aspergillus spores. As part of this programme I worked closely with a research partner at Leeds University and with the Infection Control Team at Guy’s Hospital. I provided a number of air quality assessments for stand alone projects, Environmental Impact Assessments and other component studies. I was also responsible for developing the small air quality team at Temple Group and mentored and trained junior members of staff, and was also able to build up a strong client network over my two years at Temple Group. Acting as the lead within the air quality team, following my move to the London Office in June 2007, I was responsible for managing the workload and output of the air quality team, particularly for the large monitoring programmes such as the Shard at London Bridge for Mace Group Ltd and the Thameslink Programme for Network Rail. From September 2006 to June 2008 (1 year 10 months) Master of Science (MSc), Air Pollution Management and Control @ The University of Birmingham From 2005 to 2006 Bachelor of Science (BSc), Geography, 2.1 @ The University of Birmingham From 2003 to 2005 Chloe Fellows is skilled in: Air Quality, Impact Assessment, Air Pollution, Air Quality Modeling, Project Management, Dispersion Modelling, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Awareness, Environmental Compliance, Environmental Science
