đź“– Summary
I am a customer service professional with experience in government, food production, and pest control services. Before returning to Clark Pest Control as a WDO/Termite Inspector with both Branch 2 & 3 licenses, I was employed at Mightymite Termite and Pest services as an inside account manager. I started in my current industry as a technician and sales representative for the Atherton, Portola Valley, and Woodside shared territories with Clark Pest Control. I also developed a keen eye for quality and defect patterns while I was a QA Quality Engineer for G3 Enterprises' Closures Division, a subsidiary of the Gallo Winery. Some of my other experiences include office specialist duties for the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters and field technician for Vector Control. I earned my MBA from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2014. As part of this MBA program, I went to India on a 3-week business immersion tour. I obtained my Bachelor's in Biology from Stony Brook University, New York, where I often volunteered time with research and teaching both in the laboratory and out in the field. I have also been to China on several occasions, most recently to learn the Mandarin language during a half year stint at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou. I aspire to acquire a new language once every seven years.WDO Inspector, Branch 2 & 3 Field Representative @ From November 2015 to Present (2 months) Branch 2 Inside Account Manager @ Inside and outside sales lead for all general pest division services in the territory areas of Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz counties and the southern portion of Alameda county Ability and license to quote, sell, qualify, and perform work for residential property pest control services Address customer inquiries with regards to service coverage, costs, and appointment bookings Provide office support for field technicians through scheduling, filing, and accounts receivables From June 2015 to November 2015 (6 months) Branch 2 Field Representative @ Self-scheduled for daily/monthly route services Provided legal and ethical arthropod and rodent abatement services on properties through the use of chemicals to preserve and/or improve customer home value Initiated sales for the branch through lead follow ups (inside), “creatives”, and cold calls (outside) Represented the local branch and Clark Pest Company through professional appearance and etiquette Gathered feedback and provide services to address customer issues in a timely manner Continuous improvement through review of MSDS fact sheets, chemical labels, technical services, and public safety procedures Assisted with other special projects and programs as needed by the branch From September 2014 to June 2015 (10 months) Quality Assurance Engineer @ Generated data and reports for customers, supply chain, and internal departments Collaborated real-time with production to improve customer satisfaction, reduce waste, and meet demand in a timely fashion From December 2013 to September 2014 (10 months) Field Assistant @ Conducted field and residential pest calls Developed technical skills for identifying and treating mosquitoes Explored the wastewater treatment process at the Alviso Water Pollution Control Plant From July 2012 to August 2012 (2 months) Office Specialist @ Managed public, candidate, and interdepartmental relationships Performed database management Operated specialized machinery to record election votes Twice recognized by the Registrar to ring the final day closing bell for polls From June 2008 to July 2012 (4 years 2 months) Laboratory Assistant - Organic Chemistry 327 @ Regularly prepared for upcoming laboratory experiments Supervised laboratory objectives, proper handling, and disposal procedures regarding reactive agents From September 2009 to December 2009 (4 months) Research Volunteer - School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences @ Assisted with laboratory equipment, procedures, and measurements Captured, transported and cared for live aquatic specimens From June 2009 to August 2009 (3 months) Teaching Assistant - Physics 121 @ Guided students with laboratory-related interpretations and formulas Attended teaching assistant sessions to improve the physics program From September 2008 to December 2008 (4 months) Intern – Taxes @ Assisted the preparation and filing of: · sales tax returns for 400+ stores across the nation · property tax returns in more than 10 states · items including annual reports, business licenses, and tax licenses in 10+ states From June 2006 to August 2006 (3 months) Master of Business Administration (MBA), Business Administration and Management, General @ Cal Poly San Luis Obispo From 2012 to 2013 BS, Biology @ State University of New York at Stony Brook From 2006 to 2010 Chinese Language Study @ Sun Yat-Sen University From 2011 to 2011 High School Diploma @ Piedmont Hills High School From 2002 to 2006 Chester Hiu is skilled in: Research, English, Data Entry, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Access, SPSS, Microsoft Excel, Event Planning, Microsoft Office, Mandarin, Customer Service, Bahasa Indonesia, Public Speaking, Leadership
