Kennedy @ United States Senate From January 1984 to September 1984 (9 months) Boston, MASenior Program Officer, Global Corporate Citizenship @ The Boeing Company At Boeing, I was responsible for working with our giving offices around the globe on corporate giving in the civic, cultural and environment focus areas. I also performed the following duties as assigned: directed management of grants and contract portfolios as appropriate to meet corporate goals; managed an international/national internal committee on the environment to increase external corporate giving; provided technical assistance in both civic, culture and environment grants to Boeings international and national grant makers including grant review and budget analysis. From 2007 to 2009 (2 years) Chicago, IllinoisDeputy Director @ Fannie Mae Corporation As Deputy Director, I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of Fannie Mae’s Chicago portfolio and assisted in helping the Corporation achieve overall quality; cost and HUD mandated revenue goals. In addition, I reviewed reports from a variety of internal and external groups to better understand the problems and issues facing Fannie Mae’s portfolio in order to recommend the necessary steps to resolve them. I developed management plans, site budgets, capital planning activities and financial goals and reviewed loan agreements and structured operating budgets. I also interfaced directly with the principles of private management firms regarding site level activities and contract performance issues. I met frequently with government officials, elected representatives and community leaders for the purpose of maximizing and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local government laws and regulations. From March 2003 to July 2007 (4 years 5 months) Chicago, IllinoisAssistant Commissioner @ City of Chicago As Assistant Commissioner at the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), I worked on the budget for the “Neighborhood” division at and created several tax increment financing districts on the southeast side of Chicago. I also designed several Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), including the scope of work for those proposals and worked with an internal team to select the developers to complete the projects. Working across Divisions with the Legal Department, Department of Transportation and many other city agencies, I developed a timeline for the completion of all projects and implemented a process to effectively track the progress of the projects. Projects under my direction included several Hope VI Transformation housing projects, a neighborhood theater and cultural district, several large commercial developments and the rehabilitation and renovation of several large facilities on the southeast side of Chicago. I created numerous partnerships between community agencies, city government and foundations to further community development. From March 2000 to 2003 (3 years) Chicago, Illinois
