With an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California - Berkeley and a B.S. in Psychology and Computer Science from Duke University, Charlene has over 10 years of private sector and social sector experience working with a variety of organizations ranging from internet startups to Fortune 500 companies to international non-profits. She began her career as an IT consultant at Deloitte Consulting, but during business school made a career shift to focus on social entrepreneurship and ICTD (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) in sub-Saharan Africa. Charlene has worked in Gabon, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Zambia. Charlene has a broad spectrum of experience ranging from strategic planning, program design and implementation, new product development, product management, sales and marketing, financial services, and ICT system design and implementation. In general, she is passionate about how to put into place the optimal people, systems and processes to empower organizations to maximize their social impact.
