📖 Summary
I am a health actuary with a background in innovation, predictive analytics and health services design. My specialties are creating novel computational approaches that leverage ‘big data’, and redesigning services and business models that expand the traditional notions of health, care, community and sustainability. Most recently, I served as Chief Product Officer for GNS Healthcare, leading the design and launch of the industry’s first Value-Based Analytic solutions for health plans and ACOs (with MAX™, a value-based architecture and workflow tool; MeasureBase™, a formal measure language; and MAdiC™, an intervention planning and outcomes simulation platform). Prior to GNS, I was Chief Innovation Officer for Tenzing Health, a subsidiary of Vanguard, where we merged creative analytics with human-centered design to redesign primary care into person-centric, team-based care models. We showed these could dramatically improve people’s health, reduce their costs, and enhance their experience of care. Prior to Tenzing, I led R&D in Humana’s Innovation Center where we pioneered sophisticated analytics to build a portfolio of prediction, knowledge discovery and simulation models. I also launched Humana’s innovations in personalized medicine and led their Health Services Research Center. I was also Humana’s VP of Pharmacy Management, and CIO. Outside Humana, I was EVP of Business Development for Allscripts and a consultant with Milliman, an international provider of actuarial services. I also helped launch Green Ribbon Health, a Florida-based company delivering innovations in health services to seniors, and later served on its board. In policy and advisory roles, I was a member of NCVHS and co-chair of its Quality Workgroup, member of the HSRC’s governing board, and advisor to the HRP Scientific Program Board. I am currently an advisor to GNS and scPharmaceuticals, a mentor for Healthcare Accelerators, and a member of the SOA’s Marketing Executive Committee.Principal @ From April 2015 to Present (9 months) Chief Product Officer @ From October 2011 to March 2015 (3 years 6 months) Principal @ From April 2011 to October 2011 (7 months) Chief Innovation Officer @ From September 2009 to April 2011 (1 year 8 months) VP, Research and Development @ From February 2002 to September 2009 (7 years 8 months) Committee Member, @ From March 2005 to June 2009 (4 years 4 months) Member, Board of Directors @ From November 2005 to March 2008 (2 years 5 months) EVP, Managed Care Business Development @ From January 2000 to January 2002 (2 years 1 month) VP, Pharmacy Management @ From November 1997 to January 2000 (2 years 3 months) CIO @ From February 1997 to November 1997 (10 months) Consultant @ From June 1996 to February 1997 (9 months) FSA, MAAA @ Univ of Iowa From 1980 to 1984 Society of Actuaries Carol McCall is skilled in: Predictive Analytics, Healthcare, Business Development, Health Services Design, Information Products, Health Economics, Actuarial Science, Outcomes Research, Pharmacoeconomics, HIT, Behavior Change, Healthcare Data, Strategic Planning, Analytics, Managed Care, Healthcare Information Technology, Leadership
