Bio: Carlos Diaz is the founder and general partner at Diaspora Ventures, a San Francisco-based Seed Fund Program that helps world-class entrepreneurs thrive in the bountiful yet complicated environment of Silicon Valley. Carlos Diaz has a Master's degree in Foreign Literature and Civilization from Université de Limoges. Recent Works Rests: “The Force of Hope,” 2016. "The Force of Hope" is a novel telling the story of a struggling high school student and his interactions with a Near Eastern airstrikes that have devastated his home village. By the time he returns home,Taliban are taking over, war has become a everyday event, and the only escape for him and his loved ones is to flee to America. Against all odds, Carlos and his siblings hustle to make it in America, living in a single room on the streets and working odd jobs to try and make a life for themselves. He is currently a resident writer at George Washington University in Washington D.C., where he is working on a book about Muslims in D.C.
