Prior to working for the Freelancers Union, Caitlin served as an analyst for local and national labor unions, operating as a consultant on labor campaigns across the country. Some of her specialties include industrial ethnography, recruiting and facilitating focus groups, qualitative interviewing and survey design, quantitative data analysis, national and state-based policy and legislative analysis, forensic accounting (with expertise in hospital and healthcare systems), political lobbying, and conflict facilitation.
Previously, she worked in political and corporate polling, events management and logistics, and international market and survey research. Her clients have included non-profits and state entities such as Couchsurfing, We Are Wisconsin, University of Illinois - Chicago, Working Today, and Interpreting Across California.
Caitlin earned her Master's degree with a mark of Distinction in Social Political Science at the University of Cambridge (Jesus College) in England, specializing in semiotics and systemic inequality. Her dissertation analyzed food blogs, online identity and persona design, and communication and community practices on social media.
