đź“– Summary
Member Of Technical Staff @ Pure Storage Senior Staff Software Engineer @ Brocade • Developed Layer 4 load balance functionality framework for the latest Virtual Traffic Manager (VTM). Worked on improving packet processing engine performance including I/O loop and packet classifier for L4, contributed to archiving 80G throughput goal.• Developed direct server return(DSR) feature for Virtual Traffic Manager(VTM) and significantly reduced traffic latency and load balancer CPU/Memory usage.• Added session persistence (sticky session) feature for L4 load balancing by leveraging shared LRU cache. • Worked on a few other features on VTM such checksum calculation(diff/complete, software/hardware offload).• Integrated OpenSSL stack on Virtual load balancer, added ECC ciphers to support SSL PFS (perfect forwarding secretary). Updated existing OpenSSL stack on hardware load balancer, added ECC/DSA/AES-GCM ciphers to improve security, cooperated with third-party vendor to improve performance by offloading SSL handshake and encryption operations to the hardware chip.Improved ECC ciphers performance by 100%, by using software-hardware hybrid solution to do the ECC computation. • Ported SYN-Cookie and SYN-Proxy feature from hardware load balancer to virtual load balancer, Changed critical part from hardware implementation to software implementation. Used Linux profiler tool (Oprofiler) to analyze hot spot of code flow and improve SYN-Cookie performance by 40%.• Implemented DDOS feature on next generation hardware load balancer, programmed Broadcom switch chip to offload relatively simpler DDOS rules to the hardware and improve the performance. From March 2013 to May 2017 (4 years 3 months) San JoseIT Specialist @ AC Photonics • Design and develop automated test software for optical module. Improve testing productivity by 80% (C/C++, VS2010, GPIB bus communication)• Debug firmware for optic switch (Assembly, Kali compiler) From February 2012 to February 2013 (1 year 1 month) Santa claraSoftware Engineer @ Cisco Systems • As one of the first few members of the new Call-home project team, built up develop environment. Call-home is a SSPA STAR award-winning feature which collects device diagnostic report and sends to Cisco Tac for trouble shooting and further analyze through SMTP and HTTPS.• Support call-home across Cisco product such as CAT6K, CAT4K, CAT3K/2K, 7200, 7600, ASR1K, CRS, etc. Fixed 100+ bugs• Cooperate with other test engineers to design and run integration test with Tcl script on ASR-1K, 7200.• Integrate Zlib compress library and reduce 90% size of the report message sent to backend server.• Developed new features for call-home version 2 such as crash alert and digital signature xml interface From October 2008 to February 2012 (3 years 5 months) Shanghai City, ChinaSoftware Engineer @ Suminet • Maintain TCP/IP protocol stack and application including Access List, NAT, ICMP, SNTP. Immigrant ICMPV6 protocol for ipv6 router project. • Develop EPON OLT device configuration management system, VDSL modem configuration management system• Integrated 802.11 wireless drivers into VDSL modem platform. Run test with hardware engineer and tune the performance to be the best• Design and implement a TCP/IP packet flow generator testbed, reduce huge cost for network device functional and robust testing. From July 2005 to October 2008 (3 years 4 months) Shanghai City, China
