Software Developer, Systems Administrator, Project Manager @ I develop custom software for small to mid-sized businesses. My most ambitious project to date has been the ticketing system used by some of the top restaurants in Chicago including Alinea and Next. One of its primary innovations is applying the demand-based variable pricing model to seats in a restaurant. The product successfully handled several million dollars worth of transactions from over 100,000 users. I built it on a LAMP stack using an MVC design pattern with a focus on testable, maintainable code. I developed custom scripts to rapidly deploy from Github to an Amazon AWS cluster. I also created custom auto-scaling scripts for the AWS cluster that handled the intense traffic surges of ticket sales events. This is just one of many software projects I have enjoyed building over the past several years. From October 2009 to Present (6 years 3 months) Software Developer @ My team developed a product called InvestorBridge that allowed hedge fund investors to log in and track their financials. They could analyze data graphically from within the app as well as download their personal financial data in pdf and csv formats. I was the first developer on the project, which ultimately grew to a team of five as the product gained momentum. From December 2007 to September 2009 (1 year 10 months) Software Developer, Interface Designer @ My team was tasked with building in-house software to manage the administration of millions of insurance records. We created it as a Java/Oracle web app. On this project I primarily designed and coded the interfaces, which involved translating the business logic into an efficient yet intuitive workflow.
