Controlled $80M budget. Maintained highest average profitability levels (20%+) within SATCOM Technologies for over eight years.Established growth-and-excellence business culture. SATCOM Technologies’ plant was mired in inefficiency. Assumed control of facility’s strategic growth and improvement. Turned a 25% on-time delivery record into 95%+. Enabled the business to grow from $30M to $70M in four years, while improving profitability 5%+.Planned product development process that led to sales leadership. Communications test equipment product line sales had declined from $12M to $8M. Made business case for $2.5M software-defined test platform development and product upgrade. Reversed sales decline and restored $12M revenue stream (with $14M projected for 2012) from what is now the most profitable product line in the company with 50% margin.Created high efficiency, lower cost vertical production organization. SATCOM suffered a continuing series of supplier quality and delivery problems for its high mix, low volume electronics manufacturing. Ensured company’s ability to secure small quantities of a large number of different circuit assemblies through in-house, Lean assembly capability. Achieved 15%-to-20% savings, more than possible through outsourcing. From 2005 to 2012 (7 years) State College, PAGeneral Manager ,State College Facility @ General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies Planned and managed all operating and financial elements of the company’s State College, PA production of global satellite and wireless backhaul communications solutions. Headed staff of 125. Controlled $20M budget.Combined benefits of job shop flexibility with standardized parts cost efficiency. Prioritized engineering resources to develop modular product platforms for individual product lines. Made possible quick, cost-effective customizations at lower cost. Eliminated previous system of starting every product’s design and assembly from scratch. Made possible revenue jump from $15M to 25M with stronger margins.Established credentials as effective multi-site manager and turnaround specialist. Introduced Lean principles at New Jersey facility. Created integrated approach involving Accounting, Sales, IT, HR and Engineering. Cut overhead costs from $4M to $2.5M. Turned every metric in the facility to positive numbers, and an organization running near zero in on-time delivery into a model performer running over 90% on-time.Prior: Director of Operations at VertexRSI.
