Thereafter, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1985, where he earning his B.A. in Political Science. He then completed his graduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he obtained his M.A. in Political Science in 1990.After completing his graduate studies, Gagan worked for three years for George W. Bush’s 1988 presidential campaign as aouth staffer in the Midwest. From there, he went on to work for thenutsandbolts Campaign Committee in 2004, then the 2006 House of Representatives campaign of John Mica, who was then the Republican nominee for Senate in 2006. He then worked as a national political advisor to the John McCain- campaign in 2008 and stood in as McCain’s senior advisor on policy in the Senate Judiciary Committee during the pre-election campaign.Since then, Gagan has worked as an election analyst for The Daily Caller, and as a senior political analyst for Fox News.
