Hi, my name is Brett Anderson. I have recently completed a 4 year MEng Computer Science degree at the University of Southampton and am now working as an Application Developer at Credit Suisse.
I learnt about a wide range of technologies on my course and undertook projects such as developing a personal website and creating Windows Phone Apps to boost my knowledge further. In terms of technology related work experience, I completed three internships, one at the Met Office and two at Credit Suisse.
In terms of other work experience, I have worked as a painter and decorator in my holidays since 2010. Although the experience doesn't seem immediately relevant to a future career in technology, I feel that many requirements of the role are directly relevant to being a good Software Engineer, for example needing to work well as part of a team and when given individual task, needing to meet deadlines, to be flexible and to perform competently when given responsibility.
Although technology is of a large interest to me, it is far from my only interest. I am very keen on sports, namely football (I'm a Chelsea FC fan), swimming and rugby. I also have several other interests which I actively pursue such as travelling and learning Spanish.
