As an experienced project and programme professional I have led a broad range of projects and programmes of varying sizes and functional goals but typically have been business led, global and up to £27M (US$50M) Whilst my background (many years a go now) was running technology projects the last 15 years has been focused primarily on business projects and programs across a wide range of industry sectors. The roles have almost always been leading or overseeing delivery efforts where business change is significant and stakeholder management is a key component to success. I am comfortable leading programs with technology components at the core recognising that ultimately it is always for business benefit. Business transformation programs I have led include system implementations, overseeing multiple remote teams across different time zones, managing consultants and their teams (especially the big 4), facilitating workshops, conferences, stakeholder meetings, managing suppliers, RFP’s, managing conflict, presentations etc. I am well versed in the many tried and tested frameworks and methodologies (MSP, Prince2, Agile, Prosci etc.) employed in the identification, design and delivery of initiatives to achieve business goals. From June 2014 to May 2015 (1 year) London, United KingdomProgram Director @ Program Director leading a £27M program to deliver a digital transformation and organisational implications to the multiple businesses around the Pearson world. The key benefits driving this program was the consolidation of business units and the geographic location of work rationalised. The program included the changes to business structure and process, selection design and roll out of a new Content management system (CMS) landscape and the execution of the business change etc, which was more a political challenge than anything else. This was primarily due to a transitioning organisational governance and the inherent issues of a global organisation. However in spite of these challenges the program was relentless in targeting and successfully delivered where the mandates had been made. From December 2012 to February 2014 (1 year 3 months) London, United KingdomProject Director @ I have been brought in to turn around a difficult management reporting project (Project SPRING) that was failing for the Financial Times Group and Pearson International. FT has now successfully gone live. PI base functionality has been delivered and due to go live later in 2012 Budget $8M From June 2011 to January 2013 (1 year 8 months) London, United KingdomProject Manager/Programme @ A global financial transformation project that aimed to create a world class finance function to support Pearson's future global growth. I was responsible for all projects in the Procure to Pay, Tax and Treasury streams. This required managing the multiple PM's in different locations to ensure successful delivery in the different time zones. Budget $4M From November 2009 to June 2011 (1 year 8 months) London, United KingdomProject/Program manager @ Changing the structure, processes, tools and supply chain used in the creation of content. From 2006 to February 2010 (4 years) Project Manager @ Project manager for Pearson PLC strategy. Project to identify Pearsons global strategy of delivering digital products. Scope included all opco's including Penguin, FT, Pearson Ed, Ed Excel etc. From July 2007 to October 2007 (4 months) Programme/Project Manager @ Project manager within Dorling Kindersley.
