Bob Fecteau was born in Canada in 1961 and grew up in the town of Strathroy, Ontario. He went to the University of Windsor in Canada and then to the University of Calgary in Alberta. He studied computer science, where he earned a degree in 1979. From 1979 to 1982, he worked as a National Police Constable in Calgary. Fecteau then spent three years as a CIO and Technology Leader Consultant at Rfect Solutions, where he worked from August 2000 to August 2005.
