Born in rural Minnesota in 1965, Bill was first exposed to the outdoors at an early age. Bill learned how to hunt, fish, and skin game as a Boy Scout and then became a collegiate Athlete at the University of Minnesota. He then moved to California in the late 1970s, where he started his own software company. After a few years, he relocated back to Minnesota and founded LifeHikesIndustry of Education Management in 1981. In 1997, he became a CEO of LifeHikesIndustry of Education Management. Bill Hoogterp founded Cafemedia in 1999 and continued as CEO until 2006. He founded and left Own The Room in February, 2013. He currently lives in Northern California.
