Ben is a founding partner at Notion and, together with his general fund responsibilities, focuses on strategy, product and technology within portfolio companies. He is the Notion Capital representative on the board of Star Technology Services Limited. In 1993 Ben co-founded RBR Networks, an IT distributor specialising in Cisco. By 1998 RBR had become Cisco’s largest distributor in Europe and, towards the end of that year, was acquired by Datatec for approx $70M. At the same time Ben and his brother Jos founded Star Internet in 1995 as one of the UK's first ISPs. Ben served as Star's CEO from 1995 to 2000 and 2006 to 2008, establishing the company as one of the UK's largest ISPs and, in his second term, driving its evolution towards a more broad-based communications company as it takes advantage of the convergence between voice, data and Internet. Ben led a management buy-out of the company in 2007. In 2000 Ben and Jos founded MessageLabs to scale up the anti-virus technology developed within Star.
