I am passionate about the power of technology to overcome borders, cultures and platforms in order to empower the billions to improve their own lives. With this passion, I, along with my 3 Chinese partners, founded GWC, a business with the mission to enable technology innovation that positively impacts mankind by building connections and trust among mobile industry leaders and innovators. We have raised venture capital from world class investors including Tencent, Baidu, Xiaomi, Leijun, and DST Global (Yuri Milner).
We also launched the Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) in Beijing, Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Tokyo, Jakarta, Sao Paulo, New York and Shenzhen. GMIC draws tens of thousands of mobile industry executives, entrepreneurs, developers, and investors to build partnerships, learn from industry thought leaders and highlight how mobile innovation is positively changing the world.
I pride myself on being a key connecting point and trusted partner in the mobile industry, having supported and advised great companies like Evernote, Rovio, Tencent, Sina and Facebook in their international growth ambitions. I have acquired 10 years of strong domain experience in business development, sales, marketing, international growth and building and leading international teams.
Whether it was during my times starting an eco-tourism company in the jungles of Indonesia, guiding rock climbing in Colorado or leading a technology company among the skyscrapers of Beijing, I thrive on leading teams to achieve results in fast paced, highly variable environments.
I graduated from the MIT Sloan and Tsinghua University International MBA program in Beijing. I have been mentioned on Techcrunch, ReadWriteWeb, Appleinsider and China Daily, am a regular speaker at tech events.
When I’m not working, my adventurous wife and I find time to study Chinese, rock climb, travel the world, and get lost in fascinating places.
